Scandi Minimalism

October 6, 2016

With Christmas just around the corner our attention for the interior is turned to white somehow.  There is nothing cosier than a white fur thrown over your favourite chair for ultimate comfort and warmth.

This also ties in well with the Hygge movement that is currently a huge trend. Hygge is the Danish ritual of enjoying life's simple pleasures. The Little Book of Hygge - The Danish Way to Live Well by Meik Wiking is a fab book that shows the importance of creating cosiness of the soul and taking pleasure from soothing things.

Of all the colours white is probably one of the most soothing there is.

The good news is white home accessories are something that will always stay current and will pretty much never date so it's a good investment to make.

Easy wins when buying into the Scandi minimalist trend are lighting, vases, wall hangings, clocks, and layered throws & blankets.  Even though it seems like quite a stark look to pull off, done right with lots of cosy textures, tones & layering it can be one of the most welcoming environments during the winter months.

To ease you in gently we have selected a few items that can add a hint of Scandi minimalism to your home without breaking the bank.

 Large Minimal Cascade Pendant

 White Ceramic Origami Wall Clock

 Large Dipped White Vase

Pair of Vintage Scandinavian Glass Candle Holders

White Ceramic Oil & Vinegar Set

So, as you can see, you don't need to paint your floorboards white just yet :)
